even Despair

But when the days of golden dreams had perished,
And even Despair was powerless to destroy,
Then did I learn how existence could be cherished,
Strengthened, and fed without the aid of joy...
Dare not indulge in Memory's rapturous pain;
Once drinking deep of that divinest anguish,
How could I seek the empty world again?

  1. Oh! perhaps I should note that I did not write this but I also don't know who did...found it on facebook randomly. And it is beautiful.

  2. Oh I was so impressed by you! But I still think you're pretty great for posting it in the first place! I love poetry.
